New York among the seven worst states on eminent domain.
Election results 2009
Positions: The Brooklyn Libertarian Party is against the
Atlantic Yards Project in downtown Brooklyn. We respectfully
condemn eminent domain abuse in any way, shape, or form, and define
abuse very broadly to prevent legislative over-reach. You would have a
hard enough time convincing us that a hospital or road could not be
built elsewhere, but a stadium and condominiums for a land baron who
owns the adjacent shopping mall? This is Brooklyn; we know a hustle when
we see one.
Officers: Gary
Popkin, Chair Gary has been a leader in New York libertarian
politics for a number of years and produces a public access television
show called Hardfire. Many Hardfire
programs are posted on Google
Video and YouTube. Hardfire airs weekly on Brooklyn cable TV.
Various members of our Party as well as the larger libertarian community
have appeared on Gary's show. Cameron Weber,
Vice-Chair. Cameron invites you to visit his own web site
