Announcements:
Take back the beach
Our "Take Back the Beach" Protest is scheduled for Sunday August 8th @5:30 PM. The meetup spot is just adjacent to the Coney Island Pier on the beach (near Keyspan Park, betw. W 16th & W. 19th Sts.). I hope it will be a fun way to introduce people to what we are trying to sell (liberty, responsibility, free enterprise, etc).
So far the plan is as follows:
1. Set up our big yellow banner, either with stakes or with people who don't wish to get wet
2. Distribute literature in the surrounding area detailing our purposes
3. Enter the water and encourage others to join us
4. Refuse to leave when the buggies come around
5. Attempt to collect emails/names of potential converts

New York among the seven worst states on eminent domain.
Positions: The Brooklyn Libertarian Party is against the
Atlantic Yards Project in downtown Brooklyn. We respectfully
condemn eminent domain abuse in any way, shape, or form, and define
abuse very broadly to prevent legislative over-reach. You would have a
hard enough time convincing us that a hospital or road could not be
built elsewhere, but a stadium and condominiums for a land baron who
owns the adjacent shopping mall? This is Brooklyn; we know a hustle when
we see one.
Officers: Derek Sacerdote, Chair Cameron Weber,
Vice-Chair. Cameron invites you to visit his own web site
